ZUMIEZ - MULTI-LEVEL PROMOTIONS


Zumiez is a 400+ store, mall-based retailer, specializing in skateboarding, snowboarding and the action sports lifestyle. Four to five times a year, a brand that is sold within Zumiez, teams up for a promotional contest that customers can enter and win. There are typically weekly drawings for prize packs and a grand prize that usually includes a trip, tickets to an exclusive event or hanging out with a celebrity. These promotions are run in every Zumiez store, and as the name implies, they are promoted across many levels, including signage, website assets and social media channels.

Zumiez x Neff

• This promotion, with partner brand Neff, was for a trip to hang out in NYC and meet The Lonely Island. Since many of Neff's products use bright, pop colors and vector illustrations, both were used in the signage.





Zumiez x Vans 2011

• Vans wanted customers to come up with ideas for a new show for their OfftheWall.tv video channel, with the winner getting their show on the site. The graphical direction is based on the old advertisements that used to be in the back of comic books.


• A die cut "idea generator" with three spinable wheels to help customers come up with show ideas.






Zumiez x Couch Tour 2011

• The Couch Tour promotion called for people to submit photos of ridiculous warning or caution signs. There was a push for the submissions to come through facebook, so the signage is a layout of caution signs in a mock facebook page.


• Take-home templates for customers to create their own warning signs as an alternate way of entering.





Zumiez x DC

• The winner of this promotion got to head to LA with DC's pros for the X Games, so each event of the Games is shown on a billboard that could be found in downtown LA.


• A die cut piece that is placed next to the cash register.


• Zumiez.com takeover, including site-skin, header, banner ads and langing page with all of the contest info.





Zumiez x Vans 2010

• The grand prize for the Vans promotion allowed the winner to choose between two different trips in two different locations, so an airport setting seemed like an appropriate theme.


• A cashwrap stand-up piece, including a take-away flyer containing the contest info.


• Zumiez.com takeover, including site-skin, header, banner ads and langing page.
